Here I am, internationally-known glamorous chanteuse, up to my elbows in packing materials. My hair is sticking straight up, my jeans are torn at the knees. My Fiddle and Dance tee shirt is faded and frayed. I'm listening to books-on-tape.
At month's end, I am moving out of this apartment, and I have many boxes to pack. Time, that river that used to flow so slowly, past Forever-from-now all the way to Christmas (but, alas, never quite as far as Someday, where my pony lives), is disappearing down the maw of a munching grasshopper
A what? Watch.
One more thing. I would love to do audio books. If you can help in any way to make that happen, please email me, which you can do through the link on the "About" page of this blog.
Back to the boxes!
OK, now I have to show this to my clock hubby...
Jiminy Cricket, indeed.

Moving is very trying even under the best of circumstances. I hope your circumstances are positive and that your move is into a more satisfactory space (with lots of natural light and non-glossy walls!)

Linnie, some of the circumstances are magically good, others exceptionally challenging. The legendary Mixed Bag. But all will be well. Praise God for strong tea and for the help of my most excellent cat. All boxes are being thoroughly inspected!

Groan ... moving!!! What a pain, especially when it means packing up books & lifting boxes. At least that is what I used to think. Just over a year ago, my office was completely flooded due to a burst pipe & a good chunk of my book collection was completely destroyed by water damage. My heart sank when I saw the destruction. Happily, insurance has allowed me to purchase most of what was lost & it is a real pleasure to welcome books - new & used - back to my shelves (even if collectively they weigh a ton). I wish you a speedy & easy move. Courage!

Bkray, I feel your pain. And your pleasure at seeing the books restored. I usually prune my bookstock before I move, and inevitably end up buying the same books again. So I have not done that this time - not that I have time to before I must load up the truck.
there are only so many copies of "The Captive Princess" by Maxine Shore floating around out there...
